Dear Parents, Students and Members of the Esparto Middle School Community,
This time of the school year is the most difficult for any school’s administration and faculty and staff. The STAR test is the main way our teaching efforts for the whole year are measured. It’s a really big deal. Whether we like it or not, how our kids do on this test is a reflection of how we did working with them in the classroom. And with the end of the 3rd quarter grading period, the final round of parent conferences is held for students who are in grave danger of being retained. A number of students are encouraged for the last time of the year to “get the lead out,” or else.
Having the success of your teaching efforts determined almost entirely on the basis of a one-time test is difficult to accept. And it is not easy to deal with the fact that there is so much more that we teach our students during the year that is not measured by any kind of paper and pencil test. Further, no one wants to see any student retained in their current grade. What we are all about is helping each and every student move on and be promoted to the next grade. Our joy is seeing our students grow and progress.
Having said all that, what I really want to say is that despite difficulties like the above that we educators face each year, they are more than worth the effort for just having the opportunity to join you in helping to raise your children. We are honored to partner with you in this annual effort. We don’t do what we do because of the tests or the difficult decisions we have to make. We get into this business and come to work every day to be with your children, and to hopefully make a significant difference in their lives.
Let’s hope once again this year, working side by side with you, that we do indeed make a great difference in your children’s lives. And the only real measure for that kind of achievement that we need is your thanks and your acknowledgement of a job well done. Please take a few moments before this year is over to share with your children’s teachers the growth you have seen not only in their report cards, but also in their growth as human beings and future contributing citizens of this country.

Estimados Padres, Estudiantes y Miembros de la Comunidad de la Escuela Intermedia,
Este tiempo del año escolar es el más difícil para cualquier administrador, facultad y personal. El examen “Star” es el modo mayor el cual medimos el esfuerzo de aprendizaje durante el año escolar. Aunque nos guste o no, el esfuerzo que hagan los estudiantes en este examen es una reflexión de cómo trabajamos con ellos en la clase. Al finalizar el periodo del tercer trimestre de conferencias de padres es para los estudiantes que están en gravedad de ser reprobados. Por ultima vez este año les aconsejamos a varios estudiantes “que le echen ganas” o sufran las consecuencias.
Teniendo el éxito de esfuerzo de enseñanza se determina casi por entero basado en un examen solo una vez, es difícil de aceptar, y no es fácil de aceptar que hay mucho que enseñar a los estudiantes durante el año que no sea medido por un examen al estudiante que es reprobado en el grado presente. Todo lo que hacemos es ayudarnos el uno al otro y promover al siguiente grado. Nuestra alegría es ver que cada estudiante progrese en su vida.
Al haber dicho todo esto, lo que en realidad quiero decir que a pesar de todas las dificultades mencionadas anteriormente son las que enfrentamos cada año, es un esfuerzo que vale la pena tan solo con tener la oportunidad de compartir en educar a sus hijos/a. Es un placer de estar en asociación con UD. en este esfuerzo anual. Lo que hacemos no es por los exámenes o las decisiones difíciles que tomamos. Nos sometemos en este negocio y venimos a trabajar día a día para estar con sus hijos/a y deseamos hacer una diferencia significante en sus vidas.
Una vez mas esperamos que este año trabajando en conjunto con uds. Hagamos una gran diferencia en la vida de sus hijos/as para medir esta clase de éxito, les damos las gracias y reconocimiento de un trabajo bien hecho. Por favor tome unos momentos antes de que termine el año para compartir con los maestros/as de sus hijos/as acerca del desarrollo que han observado no solo en las calificaciones pero al igual en el crecimiento como seres humanos y ciudadanos contribuyentes de este país.

Modo de Vestir para EMS
Con las temperaturas calientes de este verano resultando en menos ropa, nos gustarían recordar a los padres y estudiantes de la escuela mediana del codigo de vestuario. Nuestros empleados de la escuela están imponiendo el código de vestuario. Las violaciones pueden resultar que su hijo/a puedon ser mandados a casa para cambiarse de ropa o posiblemente escuela de sábado por ocasiones repetidas. Por favor hagan nota el tipo de ropa y revise el manual de su higo/a para el código de vestuario.
Restricciones de vestuario son:
No blusas de tirante que enseñe tirante de brasier.
No blusas cortas que escoten el pecho.
No chores cortos o faldas, una Buena prueva espararse derecho uno y poner
Sus brazos a los lados de su cuerpo. Si la falda o los chores están mas
Cortos que la punta del dedo, entonces que no se ponga la ropa a la Escuela.
4. No camisetas cortas que enseñen el estomago. Para examinar esto: haga que
Higo(a) se pare derecho y levante las manos hace arriba si mira algo de piel, no se la
ponga.
No calaberas o huesos cruzados.
No mensajes, palabras o dibujos malos.
No pantalones flojos o sueltos.
No sandalias sin correa atrás.
Ninguna ropa interior debe enseñarse durante ningún tiempo. Gracias por su ayuda
EMS DRESS CODE
With the warm temperatures of summer resulting in less clothing, we would like to remind parents and students of the Middle School dress code. Our staff strictly enforces the dress code. Violations may result in your child being sent home to change, serving a detention or possibly a Saturday school for repeat offenders. Please make a note of the restricted types of clothing and review your child’s handbook for dress code rules.
Clothing restrictions are:
* No spaghetti straps, thin strapped tank tops, etc showing bra straps.
* No low cut shirts for young ladies, no cleavage showing.
* No short, shorts or skirts - a good test is to have your child stand up straight and put
her arms straight down at her side. If the skirt or shorts are shorter than the tips of
her fingers, don’t wear that article of clothing to school.
* No short shirts that show the midriff area. To test this, have your child stand straight
and put both hands up above her head. If the midriff area is exposed at all, don’t
wear that article of clothing to school.
* No skull or crossbones.
* No inappropriate messages, words or pictures.
* No saggy, baggy, draggy pants.
* No flip flops or sandals without straps on the back.
No undergarments should be showing at any time. Thank you for your help.
Q RALEY'S QUALITY OF LIFE
Esparto Middle School has registered with Raley's Quality of Life Program. This is a cost-free fundraising opportunity for our school.
We have received Quality of Life Program Cards to give to interested Raley's shoppers. Please come by the office to get a card. According to Raley's, shoppers simply register their card on-line and present it at the check stand. It costs you nothing and Esparto Middle School will receive a check quarterly based on a percentage of the purchases. Thank you!
Q CALIDAD DE VIDA DE RALEY'SLa Escuela Intermedia de Esparto se ha registrado en el Programa de Calidad de Vida de la tienda de comida Raley’s Esta es una oportunidad de recaudar dinero para nuestra escuela libre de costo.Hemos recibido tarjetas para este programa para darle a los que estén interesados que hacen sus compras en Raley’s. Por favor venga a la oficina para obtener una tarjeta. De acuerdo a Raley’s los participantes simplemente registran su tarjeta por medio de la internet y la presentan al cajero (a) cuando hacen sus compras. Target contributes a small percentage of their sales when you purchase goods using their credit card and put Esparto Middle as the recipient. We recently received a check from Target for $52.10!
