YEAR 7, 2004 - 2005 E-RATE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

DESCRIPTION: Esparto Unified School District requests bids for district-wide long distance phone service. The Esparto district consists of four (4) schools (elementary, middle, high, and continuation) and one (1) district office. There are approximately 4 measured business lines and 25 Centrex lines currently in use throughout the district.
DESCRIPTION: Esparto Unified School District requests bids for up to four (4) Windows 2000 and/or Linux Servers to provide network services to Esparto Unified schools. Servers will be used exclusively for the following functions: E-mail, DHCP, Domain Name Services, and Firewall services.
Esparto Unified has standardized on Dell brand servers due to their reliability and ease of maintenance. While other brands will be considered, prior experience indicates a lower Total Cost of Ownership when hardware is standardized by manufacturer.
Specifications of the two (2) servers include:
- Intel Xeon Dual Processors
- 3.0 gb memory
- 5-30 to 40 gb SCSI Hard Drives (RAID 5)
- Dual Network Interface Cards
- Redundant Power Supplies
- Standard Keyboard
- No Monitor
- 1.44mb Floppy drive
- Internal CD-ROM Drive
- Windows 2000 Server or LINUX Network Operating System
- 3 yr Warranty - Parts and Labor
- 4 hour hardware maintenance

DESCRIPTION: Esparto Unified School District requests bids for up to six (6), Layer 2 or Layer 3 Ethernet network switches for use in Esparto schools. The Esparto district has standardized on Hewlett Packard switches, primarily because of their reliability and lower total cost of ownership when their lifetime warranty is considered. However, other brand products, particularly if they come with a lifetime warranty will be considered.
Specifications of the Ethernet network switches should include:
- 24 and/or 48 port 10/100 BASE –TX Fast Ethernet switches
- Rack mountable
- Manageable, preferably with web based interface
- Lifetime warranty included in purchase price
