On January 11, 2019, a vacancy on the Board of Education occurred due to the resignation of Area 1 Trustee Pam Miller. The Esparto Unified School District Board of Education shall make a provisional appointment to fill this vacancy within 60 days per its bylaws. The provisional appointee will serve as the Area 1 Trustee on the Board of Education until the term of office expires in November 2020.


Thank you for your interest in applying for the Esparto Unified School District Board of Education Trustee Area 1 vacancy. The four remaining members of the Board of Education will appoint one candidate to fill the positon.


All applicants are required to complete the attached Candidate Information Sheet. The written responses will be reviewed to ensure that applicants are eligible for Board membership.  Please deliver your completed Candidate Information Sheet to the Esparto Unified School District Office at 26675 Plainfield Street, Esparto, California 95627 on or before 4:00 pm on January 30, 2019.


Eligible candidates will be required to interview with the Board of Education during open session at a special meeting of the Board of Education to be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 6:00 pm in room A-7 at Esparto High School. This will be followed by the Board of Education voting on the provisional appointment. The provisional appointee will take the oath of office and be seated at a subsequent regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education.


If you would like to nominate an individual to serve as the Trustee for Area 1 in the Esparto Unified School District, please email the name and contact information of the individual to (Rebecca Spiva, Chief Business Official of the Esparto Unified School District). That individual will be contacted and informed that they have been nominated to serve. Rebecca Spiva will inform them of the application and interview process.
